SMALL MARMOT. VERY BIG FEELINGS.

SCARED?
SAME.

Still scared. Still going.

Meet Mamotori
Left the mountain.
Came for the chips.

01 / A VERY CRISP BEGINNINGIt all started with one bite.

Turns out,
chips require
a salary.

Mamotori eating chips in a cardboard box

A tourist left half a packet of chips on a rock.
One bite changed everything.

Life in the mountains was perfectly respectable. Then Mamotori tasted a chip. More chips meant buying them. Buying meant money. Money meant, against every wild instinct, getting a job.

So a small marmot moved to the city. Everything still feels unfamiliar. It worries before it begins. And then it does the small brave thing anyway. Not smoothly. But somehow.

Still terrified.
Still needs snacks.

02 / THE ONE WHO GOES ANYWAYA little Mamotori. A little you.

OVERTHINK.
GO ANYWAY.

Short paws. Long list of worries.
Round belly. Tiny ears. Signature front teeth.

01 / OVERTHINKING

Already thinking
about next week.

Thoroughly prepared. Even more thoroughly worried. Surprisingly brave in real danger, comically anxious in front of anyone who might disapprove.

Already panicked. Still showed up.

03 / TWO WORLDS, ONE MARMOTA mountain to return to. A city to live in.

A LITTLE WILD.
A LITTLE OVERWHELMED.

THE MOUNTAIN

Not answers. Just air.

Family, freedom, and a time before rent existed. The mountain is always there to return to. It does not solve everything. Sometimes fresh air is enough.

THE CITY

Home is a vending machine.

A vending-machine home. A job that still makes it nervous. Chips paid for with its own money. Adventure is showing up, saying hello, and trying again tomorrow.

04 / NOT ENTIRELY ALONEThe company it keeps.

Alone sometimes.
Never entirely.

A parade of Mamotori expressions and everyday moments
01 / THE PIGEON

The unbothered pigeon

A reliable friend, met entirely by accident. Deadpan, unbothered, and occasionally wiser than Mamotori. Never feels the need to point that out.

02 / THE SMUG SQUIRREL

The squirrel on the screen

A glossy life that invites endless comparison. The squirrel does not even know Mamotori exists. That is rather the point.

03 / THE COLONY

The family group chat

The mountain colony and Cousin Bartholomew, who “made it”. Far away, but always in the group chat. It turns out nobody back home was keeping score.

04 / THE TEAM LEADER

The unnamed team leader

Office authority, distilled. Mamotori has faced real predators, yet a single word from the team leader can still leave it trembling.

05 / JUST GIVE IT A GOBook One · Manuscript complete

Exhausted before
you even start?

Mamotori carrying a briefcase with slumped shoulders

Book One, Just Give It A Go, follows the fear of starting something new. Short illustrated episodes move from anticipation to imperfect action and the ordinary days after it. Fear does not disappear. Mamotori simply becomes better company for its own.

01Knackered before you even start+

Six weeks of spreadsheets before asking for a raise. Fifteen unsent drafts of “hi”. A drawing delayed until the perfect notebook arrives.

Nobody rehearses a disaster that has not happened quite like Mamotori.

02Do it anyway+

It posts the drawing. Three strangers say “cute”. It asks for the raise, voice shaking. It invites the pigeon to lunch.

Nothing spectacular. Just the moment something leaves your head and becomes real.

03What you meet after you start+

It builds a snack cart, then compares it with someone else’s. Fixes a scheduling disaster nobody notices. Gets what it wanted, then wonders whether it wanted it at all.

Achievement does not end every worry. That belongs in the story too.

04How to keep going anyway+

No callback. It gets up anyway. Writes itself the kind note it would give a friend. Staples forty ugly drawings together and calls it a finished book.

A year later, still afraid. Just a slightly better friend to its own fear.
